Vitamin Supplements Can Make A Difference!

garma vitamin supplements

At one time or another, I’ve used most of the nutritional supplements presented below, and believe they’re among the best you can get.

This is not to say that what works for me is unquestionably good for you. Like stock pickers like to say: “Do your own due diligence” (like reading the Supplements Goals Reference Guide described next).

Examine's Supplement Goals GuideTwo other things to know:

1. A Fantastic Guide.  It’s tough to find a subject about which there’s more misinformation than with supplements.  Do yourself a favor and save time and money by getting the definitive guide about supplements. It’s produced by Examine.com and is called The Supplements Goals Reference Guide.

Here’s my promotional pitch for the Reference Guide

2. Food is Medicine.  A general multivitamin/mineral is decent insurance to balance out a generally good diet, but neither it — nor any supplement — can overcome a consistently poor diet. I comment more on this below.

My Use of Supplements

In my practice, I have a core set of supplements that I use most of the time, and then particular ones used for specific purposes, such as to help lose fat, boost energy, or cleanse.

I take a break one day a week from all supplements, and often from food too, just to give my system a rest.  About one week out of eight, I also take a vacation from all supplements.

As the word suggests, supplements supplement my overall nutritional menu — they do not replace a healthy diet.

For more about my diet, please read Diet 101 and A Blueprint for Eating Right.  You can also click on “Diet/Nutrition” under ‘Topics” in the sidebar and peruse through many posts on the topic.  Somewhere in there, you’ll find something that resonates with you.  (Maybe.)

About Supplement Categories

Each category in the above supplement product table is linked to its own page(s) presenting the relevant vitamin supplements.  Note that any particular thing you’re looking for could reside in more than one category if it has multiple-category characteristics.

The best example of this are any of the three mulivitamin/mineral vitamins supplements that I recommend.  These products contain ingredients that address a wide variety categories, and so they, and several other supplements, show up in different places.  Another two good examples, among many, are Resveratrol and ProSAMe:

Natural Resveratrol has been widely reported as a miracle supplement, which it may be, but certainly hasn’t been proven so. Studies indicate that it may improve the damaging effects of atherosclerosis, is a powerful antioxidant, and supports healthy cardiovascular function.  If that wasn’t enough, Resveratrol has been touted be a “fountain of youth” formula.  Resveratrol, then, could be placed in several product categories.

ProSAMe, like the others mentioned above, can fit in a few different product categories.  Not only is it a mood enhancer, but helps promote healthy joints and liver function as well.

Beware!

Since you’re not me, please carefully ruminate about whether any of the stuff that I use would be good for you.  For instance, determine whether the contraindications listed on the supplements’ “Label Info” could affect you.  A big BEWARE if you’re pregnant or nursing.  Before ingesting supplements containing hormone or steroid-like substances, TALK TO YOUR HEALTH PRACTITIONER.

ProHealth

Most of the supplements I use are made by ProHealth, Inc.  I have a long history with ProHealth, a nutraceutical supplement company founded by Rich Carson. Rich is a friend of mine, who has been a tireless advocate of those suffering from various disease states, particularly those caused by autoimmune dysfunction.  It’s a small company and yet has managed to give away over $2 [update] $3 million to support the research of some debilitating diseases, such as CFIDS and Fibromylagia.  In the past, I’ve consulted for ProHealth, so I know them well, and am a believer in what they do.

Amazon.com

Some of products I refer to can be purchased at Amazon.com, as well as your local health food store.  Amazon has become an excellent provider of just about everything.  I find that their prices are good and delivery excellent.

Compensation

Depending on what you purchase, and from whom you purchase it, I may receive compensation via a traditional Affiliate Marketing Program.  Compensation for doing something worthwhile is delightful, but know that I make no recommendations because someone asked me, or paid me; I do so only cause I want to, and I want to only when I deem it might be beneficial to you. Also, the price to you is the same whether I’m an Affiliate or not.

Supplement Disclaimer
