25 Diet-busting Foods Never to Eat

I’M NOT a fan of all of those simplified lists of what to do, or not to do.  I don’t believe a list is that useful to change behavior.

But, that said, if you’ve already gotten yourself educated about a subject and are on the path of change for the better, a list can offer some quick tips.

And so it is with Health.com’s 25 Diet-Busting Foods You Should Never Eat article I just perused.  The “foods” (I use that word liberally) that are cited have some common characteristics, such as:

  • They’re dominated by three taste bud seducing flavors – salt, fat and sugar;
  • They are about as far as a natural food (something that nature would recognize) as it gets, given the high processing, manufacturing and packaging;
  • They’re cheap to make; and
  • They’re marketed ad nauseum.

Perhaps you’ve heard of a few, or – gasp – you’re a frequent consumer of such beauties as:

  • Pretzel dogs
  • Fast food milkshakes
  • Fast food pizza
  • Meals from a box
  • Sugary cereal

These, and many more, can be explored to your heart’s content and stomach’s duress here.
